Dental Services - Oral Surgery

We provide our patients with most oral surgery services including routine extractions and wisdom tooth removal. Most oral surgery procedures go very well, take less than an hour and are done in our office. Our dental practice will see oral surgery emergency patients.

Wisdom Teeth
First you have baby teeth, then permanent teeth, then in your late teen years you may find that your Wisdom Teeth appear.

If they are healthy and properly positioned, you may be able to care for them like the rest of your teeth, but if you run into problems your dentist may tell you they need to come out.

Problems include: your jaw isn’t large enough, the wisdom teeth are impacted and can’t come in (or are misaligned), they could come in sideways, only come in part way or stay trapped beneath the gum and bone.

Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Your wisdom teeth may need to come out if:

• Wisdom teeth come in only part of the way. The opening around the tooth invites bacteria which can cause an infection. This can cause pain, swelling, jaw stiffness and general illness.

• Adjacent teeth may be damaged by wisdom teeth that grow in crooked.

• A cyst (fluid-filled sac) forms and destroys the surrounding structures such as bone or tooth roots.
